Fitness Fun!!!

Do you dread even thinking about doing some kind of physical activity? Do you find any excuse to not work out? Can’t give up your daily candy bar and other junk food?

Well you know that it does not have to be like that; you can actually enjoy exercising and getting fit. The secret to a great workout is to take away boredom and bring satisfaction into it making the experience interesting and rewarding.

When you think of working out, it doesn’t have to be running the Boston Marathon or competing in the Mr./Mrs. Universe contest. Exercising is not just limited to running and weight lifting.

If you enjoy competition or being around people, you should join some type of recreational sports team. There are recreational teams for almost every sport, like soccer, softball, basketball, tennis, etc.

  • Tennis is a great sport to get involved in as you can play tennis throughout your life.
  • Swimming is another activity that is great for your body. Swimming works the greatest number of muscles at a time; you can either swim laps or tread water for a certain length of time.
  • Basketball is fun, challenging, competitive, and a great way to have social interaction with friends or to make new friends. After all, who doesn’t want to be like Mike?

Whatever you choose, make sure it is interesting to you or you will get bored with it very quickly. Also, try to find a few different types of workout activities. After a while, even some of the really fun ones can become repetitive.

A few tips when you are working out or playing recreational sports:

  • Take your activity seriously like you would other areas in your life
  • Try not to focus on instant results; instead think about what changes you need to make to make your workouts more enjoyable.
  • Make your activity or workout important to you, rather than treating them as though they were a separate, dreadful part of your life. Working out should be a great time for you to get away from whatever else you have going on in the rest of your life. Working out can be a great stress reliever…winning will always put a smile on your face.

And don’t forget a healthy diet…consistently eating the right healthy food is a lifestyle. If you are not used to eating healthy, it will take a little time to develop the habit. You are probably thinking, no way can working out and eating right be fun; however, what you get from these life-changes is much more important and fulfilling that you can imagine. Not only will your body change, but your mind will change as well. Get started today and have some FUN!
